About

LOGO Jugendmanagement serves as the lead coordinating organization for European Solidarity Corps projects in the Styria region of southwest Austria. We collaborate with five alternative private schools, which host ESC volunteers for an entire school year. 

FREE WALDORF SCHOOL | FREIE WALDORFSCHULE GRAZ
Location: Graz, Austria
Activity dates: 01.09.2025 - 05.07.2026

Freie Waldorfschule Graz is a comprehensive school with around 300 pupils and 45 teachers, offering classes 1–12. The school follows Waldorf principles, focusing on holistic education that nurtures intellectual, artistic, and social development. Artistic subjects such as music, drama, and crafts are a key part of the curriculum, fostering students' creativity and independent thinking. Additionally, there is a strong focus on Italian lessons, making an Italian-speaking volunteer highly preferred.

PROJECT SCHOOL | PROJEKTSCHULE GRAZ
Location: Graz, Austria
Activity dates: 01.09.2025 - 05.07.2026

Projektschule Graz is a primary school for 80 children aged 6–10. Besides core subjects, the school emphasizes artistic expression, emotional awareness, and environmental responsibility. Students are introduced to democracy and social values through project-based learning.

SCHOOL IN PFEIFFERHOF | SCHULE IM PFEIFFERHOF
Location: Graz, Austria
Activity dates: 07.09.2025 - 05.07.2026

Schule im Pfeifferhof is a small alternative school for 85 children. It follows reformist educational approaches like Montessori, encouraging hands-on, project-based learning. The focus is on creating a supportive environment where children learn through experience and develop social skills while respecting rules democratically.

REFORM-PEDAGOGICAL SCHOOL "SONNENHAUS"
Location: Leibnitz, Austria
Activity dates: 01.09.2025 - 05.07.2026

Sonnenhaus offers education for children aged 6–14 based on progressive pedagogical principles, especially Montessori. The school fosters independence, responsibility, and nonviolent communication, with a goal of creating confident, open-minded individuals. It also aims to expand intercultural exchange and cooperation with other institutions.

PRIVATE SCHOOL VULKANSCHULE | VOLCANO SCHOOL
Location: Feldbach, Austria
Activity dates: 07.09.2025 - 05.07.2026

Vulkanschule is a small school with 47 students aged 6–14, offering a home-like atmosphere. It follows Montessori and Jenaplan principles, focusing on holistic, interdisciplinary learning. The school encourages mixed-age, project-based education and promotes nonviolent communication and respect for personal development.

Your profile

Volunteers are expected to support teachers and enrich school activities with their unique input, especially related to their home culture. There are many ways to get involved, including arts, sports, music, dance, theatre, and outdoor activities. Volunteers are encouraged to share cultural projects, such as teaching songs in their native language or cooking traditional meals.

The ideal volunteer is open, communicative, proactive, and self-organized. Some knowledge of pedagogy or social work is beneficial. A willingness to learn German is essential. Volunteers will have the opportunity to collaborate on a range of creative and educational projects, contributing to the school community while learning by doing.

  • The pocket money in Austria is €7/day.
  • Each school offers slightly different conditions regarding accommodation and self-supply, in line with program guidelines.
  • Each school selects its volunteers independently.
  • Only selected candidates will be invited for an interview.
  • The selection process should be completed by the end of May.
